Welcome to Lancashire Wildflowers Learning Hub CIC – a warm, nurturing community for home-educated children and young people aged 8–16 in the Fulwood, Preston area.
We blend life skills, outdoor adventures and creative learning to help children grow in confidence, independence and joy. Our days might include cooking and money skills, forest-school style sessions, nature walks, art and craft, science experiments, games, projects, and plenty of time to talk, build friendships and just be themselves.
At Lancashire Wildflowers, we believe every child is unique. That’s why we offer flexible, mixed-age sessions in small groups, so learners can move at their own pace, follow their interests, and feel truly seen, heard and valued. Emotional wellbeing is woven through everything we do – from calm, cosy spaces indoors to grounding, restorative time outdoors.
We work in partnership with families to create personalised plans, support a wide range of needs and, where appropriate, help children work towards qualifications and future goals. Different grown-ups with different skills join us to share their passions – from animal care to entrepreneurship – so young people can discover new interests and possibilities for their future.
If you’re looking for a gentle, supportive learning hub where your child can grow roots and wings, you’re in the right place.
Full days (8.30am-5.30pm) can be booked for £37 per child which includes all activities. Private tutoring can be paid for separately and occasionally days will be extra and can include parent/carers. Sibling discount available and full week bookings for £150 per child. Days can be booked as and when required.

Want to know why we chose the name Lancashire Wildflowers?
Why “Wildflowers”?
We chose the name Wildflowers because it reflects everything we believe about children and young people. Just like wildflowers, every child is unique, resilient, and capable of thriving in their own time and their own way — given the right space, care, and encouragement.
Wildflowers don’t need to be forced into rows to bloom beautifully. They flourish in diversity, strength, and freedom — and so do the young people we support. At Wildflowers, we celebrate individuality, nurture potential, and create environments where every child can grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
🌿 What is a Community Interest Company (CIC)?
Lancashire Wildflowers Learning Hub is a Community Interest Company (CIC) – a special type of not-for-profit organisation that exists to benefit the community, not private shareholders.
Being a CIC means:
-
Profits are reinvested, not taken out as dividends
-
We are legally required to put community benefit first
-
Our resources are protected by an “asset lock”, so they must always be used for community good
🌼 How this benefits children and families
For you and your child, being a CIC means:
-
Your fees go back into the hub
More resources, better equipment, trips, staff training and new opportunities for the children. -
Support where it’s most needed
When possible, surplus can help fund reduced-cost or supported places for families who need extra help. -
Stable, values-led provision
Decisions are based on what’s best for children’s wellbeing, safety and learning – not on profit. -
Rooted in the local community
We work with families, listening to your feedback and shaping the hub around the needs of local home-educating communities. -
Long-term commitment
Our aim is to build a nurturing, sustainable space that your child can grow with over time.
